High Five for Friday

Is anyone else COMPLETELY exhausted after this week???  

I'm ready for a weekend and it's going to be a busy one!

It's High Five for Friday, folks! 

My absolute favorite thing to do during the week is... TURN OFF MY ALARM!! 

 Yah for Independence Day!! Loving that extra day and a half of vacation.   

 An extra day of vacation means we got to spend an extra day with our Patriotic Love Bug.  

That bow lasted exactly .7 seconds...about .5 seconds longer than I thought. 

We made a very grown up purchase this week.  Luggage.  Maybe next week we'll go to Sizzler for the early bird special and put our teeth in glasses with fizzy little tabs. 

GRANDMA IS COMING TO VISIT!

Books will be read, the pool will be visited and there will be TONS of cuddles. 

There were ups and downs this week, like every week, but spending the evening on the couch next to this guy makes the worst day bearable.

High Five for Friday

Can you believe we've finished the first week of June already?

I don't know about you but even though I'm out of school (psst...and have been for quite some time!) I'm still giddy when it comes to summer.  Even though I still have to get up early in the mornings and go to work, there is just something about this time of year that makes me happy.

Magazines are one of my favorite things.  My pile is too high to even show you right now but this one will get read pronto.  I love Salma Hayek!

Date Night! 

Bath time is my favorite time of the day.

I had jury duty on Tuesday.  It was less fun than I had imagined but my nerdery runs deep.  I was the only one in there who actually wanted to be a juror.  Alas, it was not to be.  

I'm SO excited to spend the weekend with one of my besties in Dallas!  I'm in need of some girl time over  margaritas.

The charming man who talks me down from the ledge on a semi-regular basis sent me these in honor of my birthday! What girl doesn’t love flowers?

Also…my birthday present! I can’t wait to test this baby out. I’ve been wanting a new bike for AGES.

The hubs has navy reserve duty this weekend so it’s just going to be us two girls!

We’re going to one of our favorite restaurants tonight to celebrate, Truluck’s. I may already have my dinner planned out. It calls for stretchy pants.

High Five For Friday

Our little family has had a great week! Ella's off deciding where she's going to go to college & oh wait... she's not that old yet. But she did start waving voluntarily at random strangers but refuses to wave to her parents. And oh, yeah, she said her first word. Minor, really, in the grand scheme of things but OH MY GAWD. She said her first word!!

If I could upload a video of her saying it over and over again I would but I can't seem to figure it out. So maybe some day.

High Five For Friday

It's Friday, folks!

Woke up today on the wrong side of the bed but after I remembered a short snippet from a Joel Osteen sermon I got myself together! He said that while we may be going through a rough patch - the job isn't going so well or our relationship isn't what it once was - we need to continue giving it our all. When God blessed us with the job when we were unemployed or brought this wonderful man into our lives we were happy & felt blessed. We gave 110%. Just because the newness has worn off doesn't mean we should stop being thankful or quit working hard. Redoubling my efforts today :)

Here are my top 5 things from this week:

I have the coolest baby on the planet!

I have been laughing out loud since I downloaded this book. The author of the super popular blog The Bloggess, Jenny Lawson, has come out with her first memoir. You will definietly ask yourself if the stories are true because they are weird, hilarious and vaguely terrifying. Go buy it now!

I had a horrifying hair failure this week but it made me giggle. I'm having fun trying out different styles. You should too!

It was a rough Thursday, y'all but a nice California cab & brownies from scratch made it bearable!

The two loves of my life sacked out together! Looking forward to a weekend with these two :)

I know they look weird.  I may have made fun of people wearing them before *cough* Husband *cough*.  But I was convinced (cajoled?) into getting a pair.  I'm hoping they'll help my back problem be less of a problem and more of just, you know,  a back.   I plan on writing a review!
